With the success of the Payback jam last month, my boy James from Original Concepts has invited us back to rock @ his signature jam Love & Lust. This is probably one of my favourite jams to come out of the city in the past couple years as it focuses on music to stimulate the moods of love and sex. This jam is the perfect opportunity for you and yours to come through looking and feeling sexy all night! Bozack Morris Presents “Alone Together On valentine’s Day”

Right now Valentine’s Day has been active for the past 19 hours or so, and it’s starting to be clear to me that this day effects more single people negatively than it positively effects couples. I don’t know, maybe I just happen to not hang out with the Valentine’s Day aficionado type of crowd, but the “warm and fuzzy” feeling this day promotes actually seems to invoke a lot of “cold and bitter” attitudes, even to a lot of my non-single friends.
For me personally, good music seems to sooth the soul, regardless of the temperature your mood is in. So here is a re-up of an old V-Day slow jam mix of mine from 2 years ago. Whether or not you’re rocking a romantic lobster dinner for one or a pop tart for two, here’s a sexy soundtrack for you to enjoy eating to (interpret that however you like).

DJ Big Jacks “Straight Goodz” Throwback on 94.5 The Beat Vancouver!
Just over a month ago I had the honour of doing a guest DJ throwback set on Straight Goodz (94.5 The Beat. Vancouver) for my people Flipout & Jayswing. They were one of the only real hip hop shows on commercial radio in Canada and I was pretty excited to play classic hip hop and soul on a mainstream platform. Sadly, the show was recently cancelled but the memories still live on through archived moments such as this. This mix is a personal fav of mine and I think you’ll like it too, so check it out!!!

the pointz of pressha archive “overproof freestyle”

You’ve already learned a little bit about Pointz of Pressha but now it’s time to introduce you to Overproof. Overproof was one half of POP and consisted of DJ/MC Scratchmatik aka DJ D-Lux Da Crate Digga but now known as Big Jacks and MC/Producer/DJ Octave!
Before we started really writing raps, making songs and even seriously DJing Octave and I would freestyle FOR HOURS on end and record mad tapes of us doing so. Here is a snippet from one of our many sessions. It features the two of us kicking off the top rhymes back and forth over a pair of headphones. It’s hip hop in it’s most basic form, try not to laugh too hard! Circa late 90’s.
Drake – Money To Blow (Big Jacks’ Funky 2 Blow edit)
It’s time for some new remix flavour from Big Jacks in 2010. The Snack Pack is still going strong, so thank you to everyone who’s showed love. I recently dropped my UK Funky mix “Funky 4 You” available HERE. It features a variety of funky house joints including a blend I put together for “Money to Blow”. It seems like everyone’s been asking for it, so here it is. I reworked it a tad different from the version on my mix and in my opinion this one is even better! So here you go. Apologies to diehard Birdman fans for not including his verse! This track comes with an 8 bar intro and is clean for radio play.
DJ Big Jacks: Funky 4 You (UK FUNKY HOUSE MIX!)
Here is the first official mix in 2010 from your boy Big Jacks! Essential for any house music head and lover of soulful funky grooves! Check it out, share it with your people and enjoy!
